These 6 children lost both of their parents to Ebola in 2015. Their Muslim family, now with six orphaned children had no hope when community members burned all of their belongings to make sure the disease did not spread. The department of social welfare connected MKM to these beautiful kids. With the support of MKM, the children were united with a distant relative with 6 kids of their own. MKM supplied food, shelter, bedding, clothing and all the needed supplies for the family to settle as one. Most importantly, the children were wrapped in the arms of the newly established Kinsmen Christian Church and the MKM staff. While one of the older boys went to Freetown to live with other relatives, the five others have all become integral members of MKM and most importantly, devoted followers of Jesus! All the children excel in school and are real leaders. They participate in outreaches to unbelievers and are faithful in all things.
The oldest, Bockarie, just graduated from college—the first for MKM! He is a Community Health Officer and will prayerfully be employed by the government soon! He spoke at church last week of the amazing work God has done in his life, giving the thanks and glory to Jesus. Bockarie is on the right with a classmate! We are so proud of him.
